“We Listen Because We Care”

Agassiz-Harrison Senior Peer Counselling has assisted many clients since the program's inception in 2002.  Our volunteers provide emotional support to their peers who are experiencing difficulties with age-related losses.

Older persons, even those most sceptical about accepting any type of supportive services, are often more likely to accept support help from a person, who has similar life experience and a common language.

Clients report stronger coping skills, increased self-confidence, and greater involvement in community leadership roles.
